Our thoughts are with him, his family and his co-workers.Anyone who stands on or anywhere near the line that seperates good from evil should read "On Sheep, Wolves, and Sheepdogs" The link is here: http://www.killology.com/sheep_dog.htm There may be lessons to be learned from this agents untimely death, but this article contains what I call one of the BIG LESSONS for us all. It also provides us all the perspective we need to truly mourn his loss even though we may never have met him.

I knew Don when he was an instructor at DoDPI in the late 80s or early 90s. He was a good man.The CIA has a memorial for its officers who have died in the line of duty. I think it would be fitting and appreciated for DACA to have memorial placques for Federal examiners similarly killed. Vale, et pax vobiscum, Don Gordon IP: Logged |

R.I.P., Fir Na Dli Petit, Last call 8/5/08Thanx Ebvan, (guilt taken). I used to think it was a waste to carry off duty. Good read. [This message has been edited by Buster (edited 08-06-2008).] IP: Logged |

Morris was not from Texas, he was Texas! I will miss him. I remember running on the beach with his German Shepard at AAPP in Hilton Head. Morris was one great guy!Ted IP: Logged |

I just saw Morris a few weeks ago, Cowboy Hat, Guyaberra Shirt and that big assed grin of his. The deep pain that is felt at the death of a friend arises from the feeling that there is in every individual something which is inexpressible, peculiar to him alone, and is, therefore, absolutely and irretrievably lost. Remember, while we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet him behind the veil. ------------------ Ex scientia veritas IP: Logged |

I am really gonna miss Morris. I remember when he told me the news that the docs were giving him six months to live. That was over three years ago.I spoke with his daughter today and she told me that he died with all his loved ones right by his side and that it was quite peaceful. He died the way he wanted to. The family is putting together a memorial website through the funeral home. When they complete it, I'll send out a notice to everyone. ------------------ Ralph Hilliard PolygraphPlace Owner & Operator Be sure to visit our new store for all things Polygraph Related http://store.polygraphplace.com

On 08/11/08, I posted the passing of Morris Colvin on the AAPP web site. I found it sad to see that as of today, there have been no relpies to my post nor has there been a response from the AAPP BOD. I have no idea what kind of Director Morris was for the AAPP. I just feel that his (or any other members) passing, deserves some type of official comment.Ted IP: Logged |

Ted, The AAPP has a ways to go before they establish a posting community like we have here. I'm not shocked that you haven't received an acknowledgement to your post. I don't remember the last time I looked at the board over there for anything.I am quite disapointed that they haven't posted anything on their Web-site. I have sent Email to Mike Gallagher, Gordon Moore, Jack St. John, Barry Cushman and John Mata. quote: I am pretty disgusted that AAPP has yet to acknowledge the passing of Morris Covin. Ted Todd posted this on the forum 2 weeks ago. Posted: Mon Aug 11, 2008 2:32 am Post subject: Morris Colvin ________________________________________ I just learned that Morris Colvin passed away last night. I will always remember him as the "Texan" who always smiled. When I was a new AAPP member, he was one of those guys who made sure that I met everyone at the AAPP seminar. I will miss him. Please keep his family in your prayers. I think something on the home page would be appropriate E.B. VanArsdale MEMBER

TED I received the following reply from Jim Gallagher AAPP VPE.B., We were all saddened at the passing of former Board member Morris Covin. Morris had been battling for quite sometime now, but suddenly took a turn for the worse. I along with several Board members and our Chaplin keep in constant contact with his family .Morris was on his death bed wrapped in a AAPP blanket. When Morris went home in his sleep, the AAPP was their for his family. Plans are being made to recognize Morris Covin contributions to our profession and the AAPP. I understand your position, but know we have not nor will we ever forget Morris Covin.

As chaplain of the AAPP, I don't comment on conversations I have with individuals in situations such as this, but rest assured the AAPP was involved (just as Jim described) throughout this long ordeal. I do not get to the AAPP forums much as there's usually so little there (cause we're all here). Perhaps we should all pay more attention when things like this occur. For those who will, please remember to keep Morris' family in your prayers. IP: Logged |
